How to Reset the Litespeed Admin Credentials

Ohh !! the day has come. After setting up my websites on my server 6 or 7 months ago, today i needed to login to my web server for some tweaks and yes.. i have forgotten my login credentials. It happens to me occasionaly, but every time i end up with password reset options.

And the sand news is that there is no reset option for password reset in the Litespeed Admin Panel. So let’s check how to solve this.

Log into the server via SSH.

If you have installed Litespeed in /usr/local/lsws then you need to enter the directory /usr/local/lsws/admin/misc.

cd /usr/local/lsws/admin/misc

Change your password by running admpass.sh file which works to change the Litespeed admin password. (if you face any permission issue try adding sudo in the beginnig.

./admpass.sh

Now specify the user name of administrator.

This is the user name required to login the administration Web interface.
User name [admin]:

Please specify the administrator’s password.

This is the password required to login the administration Web interface.
Password:
Retype password:

Hurray you have successfully reset your litespeed admin password.
