How to Unlock Your Phone Bootloader [Android]

For Sony Xperia Devices

  1. Dial: *#*#7378423#*#* then go to “Service info -> Configuration; and check if the “Bootloader unlocks allowed” says yes. If the “No” answer will be displayed then you will not be able to unlock the bootloader of your device.

  • Download and Install Latest Minimal ADB & Fastboot on your system.
  • Download your Sony Xperia device driver and install it too.

  • Go here and select your device from the list. If your phone is not listed there it means that you cannot use this guide for unlocking the system.
  • Enter your valid email address and you will get a link for IMEI verification (also check Spam folder).
  • Click on the link and enter your phone’s IMEI number in the box and agree to Sony’s legal terms and then hit on Submit.

NB : Type *#06# on your phone and get the IMEI number

  • An unlock code will now be offered; note it down.
  • Turn off your device completely.
  • Navigate to the Minimal ADB folder, usually (C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot) and ‘Right Click‘ by pressing ‘Shift‘ key then, select ‘Open command window here‘ option from the menu.
  • Press the Volume Up key on your Xperia Device and connect it to your PC while keeping the key pressed.

  • Now, type fastboot oem unlock 0xkey
  • Replace ‘key with the unlock code you got earlier and hit enter
  • Once the bootloader is unlocked, your device will reboot into bootloader mode. You need to boot it into system now using the command fastboot reboot

🙂 That’s all, now the bootloader will be unlocked, remove the USB cable and reboot your smartphone.
